"Badge" means we saw an App Store or Google Play button on the casino's page; we didn't install every app. App availability can also depend on the store region of your Apple or Google account, which is one more reason to start from the casino's own site rather than a search in the store.
Tooniebet is the cleanest case: both official stores, plus a QR code on its help centre. If an app matters to you, that's where we'd start.
Do you even need the app?
Probably not. There, we said it.
The browser versions of these casinos run the same games, the same cashier and the same account. An app mostly adds a home-screen icon, push notifications and saved logins (Face ID, fingerprint). Nice. Not essential.
Where apps do help: if your connection is patchy (hello, the 401 at rush hour, or anywhere north of Mont-Tremblant), an app sometimes keeps a session alive better than a browser tab. And notifications about a pending withdrawal are handy.
Where they don't: storage space, constant update prompts, and push messages about promotions you didn't ask for. You can switch those off. Most people forget to.
Our honest default: try the casino in your phone's browser first. If you find yourself coming back every day, then install the app. Or don't, and save the space for photos of your dog.
A note on Android APK files
Spin Casino's Android app comes as an APK from its own website rather than from Google Play. That's common with casino apps, but it changes how you install it.
Android will ask you to allow installs from that source. If you go ahead, download only from the casino's own domain, typed by you, never from a link in an email or a forum post. If you're not comfortable allowing it, the browser version does the same job, and there's no shame in that.
The iPhone version comes through the App Store, so this question doesn't arise there.
Paying from your phone
This is where mobile play actually feels different.
Interac e-Transfer on a phone means hopping between the casino and your banking app. It's a minute of switching, and on a small screen it's easy to mistype an amount. Check twice. Tooniebet's Interac range is C$10 to C$3,000 per deposit; the Casino Rewards sites route Interac through PayDirect Billing Solutions, according to their FAQ.
And then there's the classic: your bank's daily e-Transfer limit runs out right as you're halfway through. It happens to everyone, usually at the worst moment. Nothing the casino can do about it; check your limit in the banking app before you start.
Withdrawals work the same on mobile as on desktop. The waiting time comes from the casino's processing and your verification documents, not from the device. Our fast withdrawal guide has the real timings, and the Interac page lists which casinos take it. MuchBetter, an app-based wallet, is also accepted at Tooniebet and Jackpot City; see the MuchBetter page.
Documents for KYC are easier on a phone, to be fair: photograph your ID and a recent bill and upload them straight from the camera.
Games on a small screen
Slots are built phone-first these days. Many recent releases from studios like Games Global, Pragmatic Play and Hacksaw Gaming (all named by Spin Casino or Jackpot City) are built with portrait mode in mind.
Table games are a mixed bag. Blackjack works well. Roulette with a full betting layout can feel cramped; the racetrack view helps. Live dealer streams use data fast, so wait for Wi-Fi if you're on a small plan. Our live casino page covers which sites list live tables.

What we look at on a phone
When we open a casino on mobile, the lobby is the least interesting part. Every lobby looks fine. Here's what we actually poke at:
- Can you find the licence and operator in the footer without zooming? (On several sites it's a tiny grey line at the very bottom.)
- Do the bonus terms open in a readable page, or in a pop-up you can't scroll?
- Is the cashier the full version, with withdrawal options and limits, or a cut-down one?
- Can you set deposit limits from the phone, or only on desktop?
- Does the French version follow you to mobile? Tooniebet, Zodiac, Yukon Gold and the Baytree brands all publish French pages; how complete they are on a phone is something to check on site.
- Does live chat work in a mobile browser without an app?
Six questions, two minutes. If the footer and the terms are hard to reach on the phone, we treat that as a design choice, and not one made in the player's favour.
Province rules follow your phone
Your phone knows where you are, and so does the casino.
Ontario's regulated apps work only while you're physically in Ontario (19+). Alberta's regulated market, live since 13 Jul 2026, works the same way for players located in Alberta (18+). The offshore sites on our list keep Ontario and Alberta out; Tooniebet also excludes New Brunswick.
So if you're a Québec player on a work trip to Toronto, expect a geo-block or a redirect when you open the app there. It's not a fault. Details on the Québec and Ontario pages.
Set limits where you play
A phone makes it very easy to play one more round. Set a deposit limit in the casino account itself, from the phone, before the first deposit.

Frequently asked questions
Which casinos on your list have a real app?
Tooniebet and PlayOJO list apps on both the App Store and Google Play. Spin Casino, Jackpot City, Royal Vegas and Ruby Fortune also show iPhone and Android apps; Spin Casino's Android version is an APK from its website.
Is playing in the browser less safe than an app?
Not inherently. Both use the same account and cashier. Keep your phone's operating system and browser up to date either way.
Do Zodiac and Yukon Gold have apps?
Their FAQs only talk about playing on mobile and tablet, which points to the browser. We didn't see app badges. Check on site, since this can change.
Is Lucky Nugget mobile-friendly without an app?
Lucky Nugget mentions no dedicated app, so you play in the phone's browser. Same account, same cashier.
Can I deposit with Interac on my phone?
Yes, at casinos that accept Interac. You'll switch to your banking app to approve the e-Transfer, then return to the casino.
Do bonuses work on mobile?
The bonus terms we read don't set separate rules for mobile. If an app shows an app-only promotion, read that promotion's own terms before opting in.
