Who is responsible
Best Canadian Casinos (best-canadian-casinos.ca) is responsible for the personal information handled on this site. The person in charge of the protection of personal information, as Québec's Law 25 requires, can be reached through the address on our contact page.
We follow the Québec Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, and the federal PIPEDA where it applies.
What we collect
Server logs
Like almost every website, the server that hosts these pages keeps technical logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time, and the page you came from. They are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We don't use them to build profiles.
Emails you send us
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you put in the message. We use that to answer you and, if you reported an error, to fix the page.
Cookies and similar tools
Only those that are strictly necessary run without your consent. Anything else (statistics, for example) stays off until you say yes. Details are on the cookies page.
Clicks to casinos
When you click a casino link, you pass through a short /go/ address and land on the casino's site. The casino, or its affiliate platform, may then set its own cookies so that it can credit a sign-up to us. That happens on their site, under their privacy policy, not ours. We don't receive your name, email, ID documents or payment details from any casino.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal information. We don't share it with casinos. We don't send newsletters, because we don't have one. We don't knowingly collect information from minors; this site is for adults (18+ in Québec, Manitoba and Alberta, 19+ elsewhere).
How long we keep things
Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our host and then deleted. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your message, then deleted, unless we must keep them to meet a legal obligation.
Where the information is stored
The site is hosted on a web server that may be located outside Québec. Under Law 25, information sent outside Québec must receive adequate protection. We use providers bound by their own security and confidentiality obligations, and we share with them only what they need to run the service.
Your rights
Under Québec law you can:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and get a copy;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- withdraw consent you gave, for example to statistics cookies;
- ask us to stop disseminating your information or to de-index a link containing it, where the law allows;
- ask for the information you provided in a structured, commonly used format.
Write to us through the contact page. We reply within 30 days, as the Québec Act requires. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, or, outside Québec, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security and incidents
The site is served over HTTPS and holds no database of user accounts, which keeps the risk low. If a confidentiality incident ever creates a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people affected, as Law 25 requires, and keep a register of incidents.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, this page will change first and the date at the top will move. If we ever start collecting something new, such as statistics through a new tool, it will be listed here and on the cookies page before it goes live, and it will still need your consent.
For the rules on using the site itself, see the terms of use.
