Gambling is a risk, not an income
Every casino game has a house edge. Over time the casino wins, which is how it pays for the lights. Nothing on this site, no review, no strategy page, no bonus explanation, is a promise or a method to win.
Play only with money you can afford to lose. If it stops being fun, call Jeu : aide et référence at 1 800 461-0140 (Québec) or ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600 (Ontario). Other provinces are on the responsible gambling page.
Legal status is not settled advice
Online gambling law in Canada differs by province. Under the Criminal Code (s. 207), only provincial governments may conduct and manage lottery schemes, including online casino games. Ontario and Alberta license private operators in regulated markets; elsewhere, the provincial lottery corporation runs the government site.
In Québec, Loto-Québec's position is that only its own site is legal. The province's attempt to force internet providers to block other sites (Bill 74) was struck down by the Superior Court on 18 July 2018 (2018 QCCS 3159), the Court of Appeal agreed on 5 May 2021 (2021 QCCA 730), and the Supreme Court of Canada refused leave to appeal on 24 March 2022. Offshore sites can still be reached from Québec, but players using them have no Québec consumer recourse.
This is a summary for general information. It is not legal advice, and laws change. Our legal casino guide has the sources.
Offers and figures change
Bonuses, wagering, minimum deposits, payout times and payment methods are set by each casino and can change at any time. We check them against the casino's own terms, and each page shows when. The casino's terms at the moment you sign up are what count.
Some figures were shown to us in euros during our October 2026 check. Pages that rely on them say "amounts shown to us in euros; confirm the C$ figure in the cashier". When we couldn't confirm a fact, we wrote "check on site", and we mean it literally.
We have not yet tested Interac payments with every Canadian bank, or every casino's live chat. Where a test is pending, the page says so. No bank publishes a policy on gambling payments that we could find, so we don't name banks as blocking anything.
Game figures
RTP figures on our game pages are the provider's published default. Casinos may run lower settings for the same game. The info screen inside the game at your casino shows the real one; check it.
The free demos on this site use play money. Results in a demo say nothing about results with real money.
Tax
The CRA's position (Income Tax Folio S3-F9-C1) is that recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxable, while interest earned on winnings is. That is general information, not tax advice. Talk to a professional about your own situation.
We earn commissions
Links to casinos may earn us a commission. That doesn't change our scores; the full explanation is in the affiliate disclosure, and the scoring method is on how we rate.
Third-party names, logos and game titles belong to their owners. Their appearance here does not mean they endorse us, or we them, beyond what a review says. For the conditions of using the site, see the terms of use.
