What kind of slot Thunderstruck 2 is
Verdict first: one of the few older slots we would still open on purpose.
It is a 5×3 grid with 243 ways to win, so symbols pay when they land on adjacent reels from the left, no fixed lines. Published RTP is 96.65%, and the top win is 8,000× your stake.
Microgaming made it. The Microgaming catalogue moved to Games Global for distribution in 2022, which is why newer lobbies show the Games Global badge on a game that looks unmistakably 2010. (The soundtrack still has that thunder rumble; your neighbours will notice.)
Great Hall of Spins, Wildstorm and the doubling wild
The logo is wild. It substitutes and doubles wins it completes.
Three or more hammer scatters take you to the Great Hall of Spins. The catch, and the reason people keep coming back: the modes open up one by one as you trigger the Hall more often.
| Mode | Available | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Valkyrie | From the first trigger | 10 free spins, wins multiplied by 5 |
| Loki | After 5 triggers | 15 free spins with Wild Magic, which turns symbols wild |
| Odin | After 10 triggers | 20 free spins with Wild Ravens adding multipliers |
| Thor | After 15 triggers | 25 free spins with Rolling Reels and rising multipliers |
Progress is saved per account at most casinos, not per session. In a demo, it usually resets when you close the game. Check in game info if you are counting on it.
Wildstorm is the random one. On any base spin, up to five reels can turn fully wild. It is rare. Very rare, actually: do not plan a budget around it.
How to play it without wasting your bankroll
Set your bet (there are no lines to choose, 243 ways are always on) and spin.
That really is the whole interface. The strategy part is about patience. Odin and Thor take many Hall triggers to reach, and players who raise stakes to get there faster usually just burn through money faster. If your bank's Interac limit is the thing that ends the session, the stake was too high to begin with.
Volatility: check in game info. Our reading of the paytable is that the base game pays often but small, and the big numbers live in the later Hall modes.
Thunderstruck 2 demo: no embed here, lobby only
The free version that used to load on this page no longer exists, like most of the old browser demos.
Today you play it free in a casino lobby. Search for the title, pick "demo" or "play for fun", and you get practice credits. Some casinos hide the demo until you log in. In Ontario, regulated sites follow their own rules on demos, so check there.
Use the demo to see a few Hall triggers. Ten minutes is enough to understand the ladder.
Real-money Thunderstruck 2 in Canada
Québec-accessible casinos that list Games Global as a studio come first. Confirm the title is in the lobby before depositing: check on site.
- Spin Casino (score 8.7): French interface, Interac, C$10 minimum deposit. Play
- Royal Vegas (8.3): Interac e-Transfer, iDebit, Instadebit. Play
- Ruby Fortune (7.4): French via a generic /fr/ section. Play
- Jackpot City (8.6): Interac and crypto. Play
Why is Jackpot City fourth with a higher score? Because the order here is about this game, not the casino overall. Fine, it is a close call.
Operators may run lower RTP versions than 96.65%. The info screen inside the game at your casino shows the version you are actually on. For deposits, see Interac casinos. Ontario and Alberta players should use their provincial regulated sites. Québec help line: 514 527-0140 or 1 800 461-0140.
