Who makes these games (and why the names changed)
Four studios, four different situations.
Games Global. Microgaming built Mega Moolah, Thunderstruck 2, Bridesmaids and Tomb Raider 2. Since 2022 that catalogue has been distributed by Games Global, so lobbies show one name or the other, sometimes both. Several Québec-accessible casinos in our list name Games Global among their studios.
IGT is behind Cleopatra, Da Vinci Diamonds, Wolf Run and Cats. Huge on casino floors. Online, none of the Québec-accessible casinos in our list names IGT on the pages we read; Loto-Québec's online casino does list IGT among its suppliers.
iSoftBet (Cherry Trio) and Aristocrat (Zorro) are the hardest to find in Canadian online lobbies today. We say so on their pages instead of sending you on a wild-goose chase.
Licensed titles are a special case. Bridesmaids and Tomb Raider depend on film and game licences, and when a licence ends the slot can disappear from a whole network overnight. Like a Habs playoff run: here one spring, gone the next.
RTP and volatility, without the jargon
RTP (return to player) is the share of all money wagered that a slot pays back over a very long run. At 96%, the average cost of wagering C$100 is C$4. Over one evening, the actual result can be anything.
Two things matter in practice:
- The published RTP is the studio's default. Operators may run lower RTP versions of the same game, and only the info screen at your casino shows the one you are on.
- Jackpot slots count the jackpot share inside the RTP. Mega Moolah's 88.12% is mostly a base game that pays less, plus a tiny chance at a huge prize.
Volatility describes the shape of the results. Low volatility: frequent small wins. High: long dry spells, rare big hits. Studios label it differently, and some do not label it at all, which is why several of our guides say "check in game info".
Where we could not confirm a figure, we wrote exactly that. Our 2023 pages had a few numbers that did not match any real version of the game (Cats was the worst), and they are gone.
Progressive jackpots, briefly
Only one game on this list has one: Mega Moolah. A slice of every real-money bet across the network feeds four shared pots, and a random wheel decides who wins one.
Two facts people get wrong. A bigger stake raises your chance of reaching the wheel, not the size of the prize. And the demo cannot win the jackpot, because free credits do not feed it.
Is a progressive the right choice? For most sessions, no; the base game pays back less to fund the pots. If the dream is the point, play small and treat the stake as the price of the ticket.

Where the free demos are now
Not here. The embedded demos on our old pages stopped working years ago, and we decided against replacing them.
Every guide explains the same route: open the game in a casino lobby and look for a demo or "play for fun" option. Some casinos show it to anyone, some after login. If a game is missing from the lobby search, that casino does not carry it.
The demo is good for learning features. It is useless for "testing whether a slot is paying". Slots have no memory, and a hot demo streak means nothing for the next paid spin.
