Zorro: play the free online slot in Canada

Zorro, the slot

Aristocrat is the Australian studio behind a lot of the cabinets on Canadian casino floors. Zorro is one of its licensed titles, based on the masked hero of the old films and TV series.

Five reels. Lines, RTP, volatility, max win: check in game info. Our old page listed 25 lines, which may be right for one version; Aristocrat titles exist in several configurations, so we will not swear to it.

A heads-up before you get attached: Aristocrat's online catalogue reaches fewer Canadian casino lobbies than Games Global or Pragmatic Play. More on that below.

The Zorro bonus and the pick features

The Z symbol is wild and substitutes for everything except the scatter.

The game is known for its Zorro bonus. In the version our 2023 page described, spelling out Z-O-R-R-O on the reels lets you choose between free spins and other bonus modes: a gold-coin feature with multipliers, a tornado bonus, and a pick game. The multipliers the old page quoted (up to 500x on one feature) we could not confirm, so they are out.

There was also a gamble option on the old version, red or black, suit for more. We are not fans. Doubling a small win on a coin flip is still a coin flip, and it adds nothing to the return; it only makes the swings bigger.

Exact rules for your version are in the help screen, and they matter more here than on most slots, because Zorro versions do differ.

How to play

Pick the stake. Check how many lines are active. Spin, and when the bonus starts, read the choice on screen before tapping.

Choosing between free spins and other modes often leaves the long-run return roughly the same; what it changes is how the wins arrive. Free spins usually mean more small wins, pick features fewer and bigger ones. Pick whichever matches your mood. Honestly, that is the whole strategy.

Montréal readers will know the feeling of planning around the orange cones on the Décarie: you choose the route, the traffic decides the timing. Same idea.

Casino floor Zorro versus the online version

Many Canadians met Zorro on a casino-floor cabinet, not in a browser. Aristocrat is above all a land-based studio, and that is where the game built its following.

The online version keeps the theme and the bonus idea, but do not assume the maths is identical. A machine in a Québec land casino is set up by Loto-Québec, which runs those casinos; an online version is configured by the casino from the options the studio offers. Two games with the same name can have different RTPs and different bonus details.

The cabinet also has something the browser cannot copy: the noise. Some people miss it. Most neighbours do not.

Free Zorro demo: what changed

The embedded demo on this page no longer works, and it is not coming back.

Demo play now lives in the casino lobby. Where a casino carries Zorro, look for a "demo" or "play for fun" option on the game tile, sometimes available only after sign-in. If the game is missing from the search, the casino does not have it.

Finding Zorro at a Canadian online casino

We did not find Aristocrat named among the studios at the Québec-accessible casinos in our list. The game may still be there in some lobbies; check on site before you deposit.

Where to search first:

• Yukon Gold: Québec yes, French interface, Interac, C$10 minimum. Search Yukon Gold
• Tooniebet: Québec yes, payouts up to C$9,000 per day according to its terms. Search Tooniebet

Two sites only, and both with a caveat. We would rather send you to two places to search than to five that probably do not have the game.

Operators may run lower RTP versions of any slot; the info screen is the reference. Players in Ontario (19+) and Alberta (18+) should use their regulated provincial sites. Help in Québec: 514 527-0140 or 1 800 461-0140, 24/7.
