A fruit machine, not much else (and that is fine)
Cherry Trio is a classic three-reel slot from iSoftBet. Sevens in several colours, BAR symbols, a diamond, and the cherries that give it its name.
Paylines, RTP, volatility and max win: check in game info. Our 2023 page listed 5 lines and a top prize of 1,000 times the bet. We could not confirm either for the version casinos serve now, so treat them as history, not data.
Who is it for? Players who liked the old Vegas-style cabinets. The ones that took loonies, back when slot machines still took loonies, and made that clunk sound when you won.
The cherry wild and its party trick
The cherry marked "Wild" substitutes for other symbols. According to the game's description, wild cherries landing across the reels can turn whole reels wild, which is where the larger wins come from.
That is close to the entire feature list. No free spins in the classic sense, no pick game, no jackpot. If you want bonus rounds, look at Thunderstruck 2 or Cleopatra instead.
We like the honesty of it. Every result is visible, nothing hides behind a meter. The downside: a lot of spins look identical, and three-reel games can feel slow when nothing lands. Is that boring or relaxing? Depends on the evening.
How to play Cherry Trio
- Choose the coin value and, if the version allows it, the number of lines. Play all lines.
- Spin. Wins pay on the active lines, left to right or as the paytable shows.
- Watch the cherry wilds. That is it.
Small stakes work well on a game like this, since there is no bonus round to "build up" to. A C$20 session at small coins can last a while.
And then, of course, the bank's daily Interac limit runs out right when you decide to top up. Annoying. Possibly a sign.
Three reels versus five: what actually differs
People assume three-reel slots are "easier to win". Not really. The number of reels says nothing about the return; the RTP does, and that is set by the maths model, not the layout.
What does differ is the shape of the results. A classic like Cherry Trio usually pays in a narrow range: lots of nothing, some small hits, the occasional wild-reel moment. A five-reel video slot spreads its return across features, so the base game can feel thinner while the bonus carries the weight.
So the choice is about pace. If you want to see where every cent goes, three reels. If you want the chance of a long bonus round, five. Neither one is the smarter bet.
Cherry Trio free play: in the lobby, not here
The demo frame that used to sit on this page stopped working years ago. We are not putting a new one in.
To play free, open the game in a casino lobby that carries iSoftBet titles and choose demo or "play for fun". Some casinos show that option before you register, others only after. Demo credits have no cash value.
One honest warning: older iSoftBet classics are not in every lobby any more. If the search box returns nothing, the casino simply does not have it.
Where to look for Cherry Trio in Canada
None of the casinos in our list names iSoftBet on the pages we read. So, as with a few other older titles here, this is a list of places to search, Québec-accessible first:
- Tooniebet: Québec yes, French section, Interac from C$10, wagering 20x on its welcome offer. Studios: check on site. Search Tooniebet
- Zodiac Casino: Québec yes, French interface. No studio list published. Search Zodiac
- Jackpot City: Québec yes, a large multi-studio lobby (Games Global, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw and others named). Search Jackpot City
If you find it, check the RTP in the info screen; operators may run lower versions than the default. Ontario (19+) and Alberta (18+) have their own regulated sites, which are the right place to play there. Québec help line: Jeu : aide et référence, 1 800 461-0140.
