Interac Casinos: e-Transfer Deposits and Withdrawals

By the Best Canadian Casinos editorial team · Checked: 14 Oct 2026 · 19+ (18+ QC, MB, AB)

Interac is the default. Ask ten Canadians how they fund a casino account and most will say e-Transfer before you finish the question.

That doesn't make it simple. There are two Interac products with similar names, your bank sets a limit the casino can't see, and only one casino on our list publishes its Interac payout range in full. This page goes through all of it: what each product does, how a deposit actually travels, where the Québec bank question stands, and which Interac casinos say what in their own terms.

e-Transfer and Interac Online are not the same thing

Same brand. Different plumbing.

Interac e-Transfer sends money from your bank account using your bank's own app or website. You confirm the payment inside your banking, the casino (or the payment company it works with) receives it, and the balance appears in the cashier. Nothing about your banking login is shared with the casino. This is the one you'll see in almost every Canadian-facing cashier.

Interac Online was the older checkout version: you got redirected from the merchant to your bank's login page, approved, and came back. Fewer banks supported it, and fewer casinos list it now. In our research, not one casino on our list confirmed Interac Online on a page we could read. Every entry for it is check on site.

So when a casino just writes "Interac" (Spin Casino, Jackpot City and Lucky Nugget all do), it almost certainly means e-Transfer, but they don't actually say so. Royal Vegas is clearer: its Canadian page calls it Interac e-Transfer by name. Small thing. It still annoys us a little, because a payment page is the one place where vagueness costs people time.

What happens between "Deposit" and your balance

Most casinos don't handle Interac themselves. A licensed payment processor sits in the middle, receives the transfer and credits your casino account.

Zodiac and Yukon Gold say this openly: their FAQs state that Interac deposits are processed by PayDirect Billing Solutions Inc. That name may appear on your bank statement or in the e-Transfer screen instead of "Zodiac". Don't panic when it does. It's normal, and a casino that tells you the processor's name up front is doing you a favour.

PlayOJO, which on our site is an Ontario-only listing, describes two flows on its Interac page: a standard e-Transfer and Interac Request Money, where the casino sends a money request that you accept in your banking app. Either way, the money leaves your account the moment you approve it.

Speed for deposits is usually short, but nobody on our list publishes a guaranteed deposit time. If the balance hasn't appeared after a while, the reference number from your banking app is what support will ask for. Keep it. Screenshot it, even (yes, like a receipt from the dépanneur you'll never look at again, except this time you might).

Your first Interac deposit, step by step

The details differ by cashier. The order doesn't.

  1. Create the account with the same legal name your bank uses. A mismatch is the most common reason a transfer gets held.
  2. Open the cashier, choose Interac, enter the amount. Check the minimum first: C$10 at Tooniebet and PlayOJO; at the Baytree brands the bonus minimum is shown as 10 currency units, and the cashier figure for Interac is check on site.
  3. Enter the email or mobile number registered with your bank, if the form asks for one.
  4. Approve the transfer in your bank's app or website. Some flows send a request you accept; others give you payment details to send.
  5. Wait for the balance to appear. If you're claiming a welcome offer, confirm you opted in before depositing, not after.
  6. Upload ID and proof of address while you're at it. It saves days on the first withdrawal.

Step two is where people trip. Tooniebet takes Interac from C$10, but its welcome bonus needs C$30 per deposit. Deposit C$20 expecting the match and you'll get nothing (actually, not nothing: you'll get C$20 of real-money play, just no bonus on top). The cashier minimum and the bonus minimum are different numbers, and our minimum deposits guide separates them casino by casino.

The limit you didn't set: your bank's

The casino's limit is only half of it.

Every bank caps how much you can send by e-Transfer, per transaction and per day, and often per week and month too. Those limits belong to your bank and your account type, not to the casino. They vary from bank to bank and sometimes from one account plan to another at the same bank, so we can't print a single number, and anyone who does is guessing. Look in your online banking under Interac e-Transfer settings or limits; most banks show your current caps there.

Here's how it bites. You deposit a few times in an evening. Fine. Then two days later you want to pay a friend for hockey tickets and the transfer fails, because the bank counts every e-Transfer against the same daily or rolling limit, casino or not. The limit always runs out at the worst moment. Always on a Friday, somehow.

Two practical points. Withdrawals coming in to you usually aren't the issue; the cap is on sending. And if you plan a larger deposit, check the bank limit before you check the casino's maximum. Tooniebet accepts up to C$3,000 per Interac deposit, but your bank might stop you well before that.

Desjardins, Banque Nationale and the Québec question

We haven't tested them yet.

That's the whole answer for now, and we'd rather give it plainly than dress it up. Interac deposits from a Desjardins account and from a Banque Nationale account are both on our editorial test list. When we have results, they'll go on this page with the date.

What we can say: no bank we looked at, Desjardins and Banque Nationale included, publishes a policy that blocks Interac e-Transfers to gambling sites. You'll read confident claims online in both directions. Most trace back to old forum posts or a 2020 article whose original page no longer loads. We don't repeat them.

The casinos themselves are less ambiguous on the province. Spin Casino, Jackpot City, Royal Vegas, Lucky Nugget, Zodiac, Yukon Gold and Tooniebet don't name Québec as a restricted territory in their terms, and all of them have French-language pages. French-language support is a different matter: we haven't confirmed it anywhere, and Tooniebet's chat is labelled English only. If you're in Montréal and the cashier rejects a transfer, the first call is to your bank's card or e-Transfer line, the second to the casino's support. In that order. More on the province at online casinos in Québec; Loto-Québec's own site, Loto-Québec says, is the only one legal in the province (not legal advice; our legal page has the court history).

When a transfer doesn't show up

It happens. Usually for boring reasons.

The most common one is a name that doesn't match. The casino account says "Mike", the bank account says "Michael J.", and the payment processor holds the transfer until someone compares the two. Second most common: the bank limit from the section above, which produces a failed transfer on the bank's side, not the casino's, so the casino has nothing to look up.

Then there are the cases where the money left and the balance didn't move. Don't send a second transfer to "push" the first one through. Contact support with three things: the amount, the time, and the reference number from your banking app. That's enough for them to trace it with the processor.

A smaller one we see in the terms rather than in practice: a welcome offer that needed opting in before the deposit. The money arrives fine, the bonus doesn't, and support will point you to the bonus terms. Read them before depositing, not after. I once read a full set of bonus terms in the Tim Hortons line and still got to the counter before the part about excluded payment methods, so: longer than you think.

Weather, by the way, isn't a reason. A transfer doesn't care that it's minus 35 in Winnipeg; it's the people processing payouts who keep office hours. Bank holidays are a different story for withdrawals, since processing days are business days.

If none of this explains it, ask the casino whether Interac is enabled for your province on that site. Ontario and Alberta residents are excluded from most of the offshore sites listed here, and a cashier that won't accept your transfer is sometimes simply telling you that.

Tooniebet wins this table without much competition, simply because it writes things down. The Baytree sites (Spin, Jackpot City, Royal Vegas, Lucky Nugget) publish their bonus amounts in euros from where we connected, so the figures shown to us were in euros: confirm the C$ figure in the cashier. Ruby Fortune didn't show Interac on any page we could read, which is why it's missing here. Ontario players: PlayOJO and the other iGO brands are on the Ontario page, no bonuses mentioned there, by law.

To play, go through the casino's own site: Tooniebet, Royal Vegas or Spin Casino.

Getting money back by Interac

Slower than the deposit. Always.

Withdrawals go through a pending period first: 24 hours at Lucky Nugget, 48 hours at Zodiac and Yukon Gold. Then the casino processes it, then the payment company sends the e-Transfer. Tooniebet's "within 48 hours" for Interac is about as good as published figures get on our list. Zodiac adds that a first withdrawal to a new method may need extra checks of 5 to 7 working days. Verification is the bottleneck, not Interac.

Watch the minimums. Zodiac and Yukon Gold won't pay out below C$50 on most methods. PlayOJO (Ontario) says there's no minimum on Interac withdrawals. Tooniebet's floor is C$10.

And the clause we keep mentioning because it matters: Baytree's terms allow winnings to be paid in euros regardless of your account currency. If an Interac payout ever arrives as a converted amount, that's why. Compare payout speeds across casinos on fast withdrawal casinos, and if Interac doesn't work for you, Instadebit and iDebit are the usual fallbacks.

One last thing, since this page is about moving money. A deposit limit set in your casino account is a better guard than your bank's e-Transfer cap. If you need to talk to someone: Jeu : aide et référence, 514 527-0140 or 1 800 461-0140 (Québec), ConnexOntario 1-866-531-2600 (Ontario).

Frequently asked questions

Is Interac e-Transfer free at online casinos?

The casinos on our list don't publish Interac fees, so check on site. Your bank may charge for e-Transfers depending on your account plan, which is between you and the bank.

How much can I deposit by Interac?

Two limits apply: the casino's and your bank's. Tooniebet publishes C$10 to C$3,000 per deposit. Your bank's daily e-Transfer limit depends on your account; check it in online banking.

Does Desjardins or Banque Nationale work for casino Interac payments?

We haven't tested either yet; both are on our editorial test list. We found no published policy from any bank blocking e-Transfers to gambling sites.

Can I withdraw winnings by Interac?

Yes at Tooniebet (C$10–9,000 by e-Transfer) and PlayOJO in Ontario. At the other casinos, Interac payouts are listed but limits and times are check on site.

Why does a different company name appear on my e-Transfer?

Casinos usually use a payment processor. Zodiac and Yukon Gold name theirs as PayDirect Billing Solutions Inc.
