Short answer: good backup, thin paperwork
We like iDebit. We don't love how little the casinos say about it.
The method itself is sensible for Canadians: money comes from a Canadian bank account in Canadian dollars, and it works in both directions at least at Royal Vegas, which states deposits and withdrawals. That alone puts it ahead of anything voucher-based.
The problem is documentation. Spin Casino lists iDebit with no limits. Jackpot City shows the iDebit logo on its Canadian homepage and its French-Canadian homepage, but it's missing from the list on its own Canadian payment-methods page. Which one is right? Probably both, depending on the day. Check the cashier.
Lucky Nugget is the exception, and we'll come back to it.
How an iDebit deposit works
Choose iDebit in the cashier. You're sent to iDebit's window. You choose your bank, sign in to online banking there, confirm the amount, and return to the casino with the balance updated.
The first time, you'll set up an iDebit account, which takes a few minutes and asks for the usual personal details. After that it's faster. Your banking credentials go to your bank through iDebit's connection, not to the casino; the casino only receives the payment.
Is that better than Interac e-Transfer? Different, mostly. With e-Transfer you approve inside your own bank app. With iDebit you approve inside iDebit's window. If your bank's e-Transfer limit is already used up for the day (and it always seems to be on the night of a Canadiens game), iDebit draws on a different route, which is the practical reason many people keep it as a second option. Limits from iDebit's side and from your bank still apply: check on site and in your banking.
Fees? Not published by any casino on our list for iDebit. Check on site, and check iDebit's own terms before your first payment.

"24–28 hours" is Lucky Nugget's wording, not a typo on our side. It's an odd range and we've reproduced it as published.
Ruby Fortune doesn't show iDebit on any page we could read, while its sister sites do. Our guess is a regional display difference, but a guess isn't a fact, so it stays off the list until we can see it from a Canadian connection. Tooniebet simply doesn't offer it: Interac, MuchBetter, cards, paysafecard and crypto are its routes.
That C$5 minimum at Lucky Nugget
Five dollars. Not one, not ten.
Lucky Nugget's Canadian payments page sets C$5 as the minimum for iDebit, along with Visa, Mastercard, eCheck and Neosurf. That makes iDebit one of the cheapest ways into a cashier on our list, apart from the C$1 first-deposit offers. The 40 spins first-deposit offer runs on a C$1 deposit (shown to us as €1; amounts shown to us in euros, confirm the C$ figure in the cashier), and deposits two and three need 5 currency units to trigger their offers.
Low entry isn't the same as low cost, though. Lucky Nugget's welcome offers carry 200x wagering. That's not a typo either. Our C$5 deposit casinos page does the arithmetic, and the wagering calculator will show you what 200x means in bets before you deposit a cent.
(Remember when a loonie actually went into a slot machine? Physical coin, metal tray, the noise. Gone for years. C$5 by iDebit is the closest modern equivalent, and somehow less fun to hold.)
Cashing out to iDebit
This is the reason to choose iDebit over a voucher at all. It can pay back.
Royal Vegas states iDebit for withdrawals. Lucky Nugget publishes 24–28 hours. Everywhere else, assume the cashier decides, and look before you deposit: some sites send withdrawals back to the deposit method when they can, which is convenient if that method supports payouts and annoying if it doesn't.
The usual friction applies. Baytree brands, which include all four casinos that list iDebit, require ID checks once transactions reach €2,000, single or cumulative, and can ask for proof that the payment method belongs to you. With iDebit, that proof is typically a statement or screenshot from the linked bank account. Have it ready. Baytree also caps withdrawals at 10,000 per 24 hours (stated in GBP or equivalent) and may pay winnings in euros under clause 1.1.10 of its terms. We don't like that clause, and we say so on every payment page.
Before the first iDebit payment
Ten minutes now saves a support ticket later. A short list, in the order we'd do it:
- Make sure the name on the iDebit account, the bank account and the casino account is the same. Exactly the same, middle initial included if your bank uses one.
- Find the casino's iDebit minimum in the cashier, not on the promo banner. They're different numbers at most Baytree sites.
- Check whether the welcome offer excludes any payment method. Read the bonus terms for the word "excluded", it's quicker than reading the lot.
- Confirm that iDebit appears as a withdrawal option too, not just a deposit one.
That third point deserves a sentence. Bonus terms sometimes exclude e-wallets or certain deposit types from welcome offers. Our research notes don't record whether any offer on our list excludes iDebit, so this one is check on site. Terms change anyway, and a deposit that doesn't qualify for the match is an expensive way to find out.
The fourth point is the one people skip. Picture the Canadian Tire flyer: a great deal, small print says Tuesdays only, paint only. A payment method that only works one way is the same kind of deal. Fine, as long as you know before you're standing at the till.
iDebit, Instadebit or Interac?
For most people: Interac first. It's listed more widely and nothing new needs setting up.
iDebit and Instadebit are close cousins, both bank-linked, both Canadian, both supported by the same Baytree sites. The published difference is small: at Lucky Nugget iDebit is listed at 24–28 hours and Instadebit at 24–48 hours. Jackpot City lists Instadebit on its Canadian payment page and only shows iDebit as a homepage logo, which makes Instadebit the clearer choice there.
Pick iDebit if your bank's e-Transfer limit gets in the way, or if Interac is simply missing from the cashier you're looking at. Pick Interac if you want the fewest steps. Want to compare every method in one table? That's the payments hub.
Outside Ontario and Alberta only: those provinces are excluded from every iDebit casino listed here. For the full Québec context, see Québec. Help line: Jeu : aide et référence, 1 800 461-0140.
Ready to try it: Lucky Nugget or Royal Vegas.
