The quick picture
A five-reel IGT video slot built around big cats and stacked symbols. Paylines, RTP, volatility, max win: check in game info.
Why so many blanks? Our old page listed 7 reels and 50 lines, which does not match any version we know of. Rather than replace one guess with another, we are pointing you to the info screen. Fair?
What is sure is the style: big cats on the premium symbols, card ranks at the bottom, and a look that dates it to IGT's earlier online years.
What happens on the reels
The Cats logo acts as the wild. Stacked symbols are the main feature, so whole reels can fill with the same cat and connect across several lines at once.
A bonus symbol starts free spins; the 2023 page mentioned extra spins for more bonus symbols, and the in-game help confirms the exact count for the version you are on.
Opinion: stacked-symbol slots feel streaky. Long quiet stretches, then a screen of tigers. If the quiet stretches bother you, this is not your game, and that is a perfectly good reason to play something else.
How to play Cats
Set the line bet, check how many lines are active (play all of them), spin.
The paytable opens from the "i" or "?" button. Read the free-spins section, since that is where versions differ.
One small aside. "The stacks are due" is the slot version of "the snow has to stop by April" in Winnipeg: it sounds like logic, it is not. A slot has no memory of the last hundred spins.
Budget-wise, the advice is boring and correct: decide the session amount before you open the game, and use the deposit limit tool in your casino account.
Reading the info screen (since we left so many blanks)
Every licensed slot has a help or info screen. On IGT games it sits behind an "i" or a menu icon. Three things to look for there:
- The theoretical RTP, often worded as "return to player" or "expected payback". Operators may run lower versions than the default, so the figure at your casino is the only one that matters.
- The number of lines or ways, and whether you can change it.
- The free-spins rules: how many spins, whether they retrigger, and any cap.
Some info screens also show the maximum win per spin or per round. If yours does not, support can tell you.
Prefer games where all of this is printed clearly? On this site that means Cleopatra, Da Vinci Diamonds and Wolf Run, which have their numbers listed on their pages. Cats is the odd one out, and we would rather admit it than make numbers up.
Free Cats demo: where to find it
We used to show a demo here; that embed no longer works and we are not replacing it.
The game can be tried free in casino lobbies that carry it, through the demo or "play for fun" button. Expect some casinos to ask you to sign in first. If the search finds nothing, the casino does not carry Cats.
Searching for Cats at Canadian casinos
None of the Québec-accessible casinos in our list names IGT on the pages we read, so this is a search list rather than a guarantee.
Start with Loto-Québec's online casino, which lists IGT among its suppliers (the title itself: check on site). Then the offshore sites that accept Québec:
- Tooniebet review, Interac from C$10. Visit
- Zodiac Casino review, French interface. Visit
- Yukon Gold review, C$10 minimum. Visit
Operators may run a lower RTP version than IGT's default; the info screen tells you which one you have. Ontario players need an iGO-registered site (19+); Alberta players, a site registered in Alberta (18+). Help in Québec: 514 527-0140 or 1 800 461-0140.
Frequently asked questions
Who makes the Cats slot?
IGT. It is an older video slot from their online catalogue.
What is the RTP of Cats?
Check in game info. Casinos can run different configured versions, and some may be lower than the default.
Why does this page not list the RTP or paylines for Cats?
Our 2023 figures did not match any version we could confirm, so we removed them. The info screen in the game shows the correct numbers for the version your casino runs.
Can I play Cats for free without downloading anything?
Yes, where a casino offers the demo in its lobby. It runs in the browser, on desktop or phone.
