Rules of the exposed game
The dealer's two cards are dealt face up. You see 20, you know you need 21. You see 16, you know the dealer must draw.
The trade-offs come straight after. A player blackjack pays 1:1. On ties, the dealer generally wins; how a tied natural is settled differs between versions, so read NetEnt's help screen. Deck count, doubling and splitting limits are in there too.
Insurance doesn't exist here, and splitting and doubling follow NetEnt's own limits, often tighter than in classic blackjack. That is part of how the house claws back the exposed card.
Odd thing: the game feels easier and is not. The information is real, the payout cuts are real too.
What each result pays
| Result | Pays |
|---|---|
| Winning hand | 1:1 |
| Blackjack | 1:1 |
| Tie (most totals) | Dealer wins |
| Tied blackjack | Check in game info |
No insurance: there's nothing to insure against when you can see both cards.
Look at the table again and notice what's missing: the 3:2 line. That half unit on every natural is exactly what pays for your peek at the hole card.
Strategy: forget the regular chart
Regular basic strategy assumes a hidden card. Here, that assumption is gone.
The simple version: if the dealer's total already beats yours, keep drawing, even on totals you would normally stand on, because standing is a guaranteed loss. If the dealer holds a stiff 12 to 16, stand on almost anything and let them bust. The free mode lets you check your instinct against the result a few hundred times before a C$ is involved. Long run, the house still keeps its cut.
A few spots where players go wrong:
- Standing on 17 against a visible dealer 18. It's already lost; hit.
- Doubling into a dealer 20. Doubling makes sense against weak dealer totals, not strong ones.
- Splitting tens because the dealer shows a stiff. Tempting, often right in this game, but check the chart, it depends on the exact rules.
- Forgetting ties lose. A 19 against a dealer 19 isn't safe; it's a loss.
House edge
Around 0.6 to 0.7% with correct exposure strategy, depending on rules. That's a little worse than classic blackjack, which surprises people. NetEnt publishes the return in the game info; check it there.
Play it with a regular chart and the edge climbs a lot.
The reason is the tie rule. Ties happen around one hand in ten in normal blackjack. Hand all of them to the dealer and you need the exposed card to work hard just to break even with a classic table. It does, almost.
RNG or live?
Double Exposure is an RNG game; we know of no common live studio version. RNG means a demo, a software shuffle each round and no one waiting on you while you work out whether to hit a 17. That last part matters here. Live tables: live casino.
And honestly, a game this dependent on reading two dealer cards is nicer without a timer. Ten seconds is short when you are adding up a five-card hand at the end of a long shift.
Where it runs for Canadian players
Québec first: Tooniebet (Interac, French site) and Yukon Gold accept Québec. NetEnt is common in offshore lobbies but we did not confirm this specific table at either; use the lobby search.
Tooniebet lists Interac deposits from C$10 to C$3,000 and a 20x wagering requirement, lower than most; its chat is labelled English only, though the site itself has French pages. Yukon Gold's first-deposit offer has 200x wagering. Table games may count partly or not at all at either. Read the terms.

Can I play it free on mobile?
NetEnt's current tables run in mobile browsers; casinos decide whether they show the demo. Check on site.
