Why it's still a good idea for some people

That's the real case for paysafecard and we think it's a strong one. Zodiac's FAQ mentions "prepaid vouchers" in general without naming any, so it's check on site there, and the same goes for Yukon Gold. PlayOJO lists paysafecard too, but it appears on our site only as an Ontario-registered brand, so see the Ontario page if that's where you live.

C$20 voucher, C$30 bonus: the Tooniebet mismatch

This one catches people.

Tooniebet's cashier takes paysafecard from C$20. Its welcome package, up to C$3,500 plus 200 bonus spins over four deposits, needs at least C$30 per deposit. A C$20 voucher gets you C$20 of play and no match. Two C$20 vouchers in one deposit? That depends on whether the cashier accepts combined PINs for a single payment, which is check on site.

The wagering, for the record, is 20x and must be completed within 10 days, with a C$7.50 maximum bet while a bonus is active. That's the lowest multiplier on our list by a distance. It still adds up. Deposit C$30, get a C$30 match: if the 20x applies to the bonus alone, that's C$600 in bets; if it applies to deposit plus bonus, it's C$1,200. The promotions page says deposit plus bonus, the homepage says bonus wagering, and we'd plan for the stricter one. Our wagering calculator does this in two seconds.

Is this a reason to avoid Tooniebet? No. It's a reason to buy a C$50 voucher instead of a C$20 one if you want the bonus, or to skip the bonus if you don't. Both are fine answers.

Buying and using a voucher

Buy at a participating retailer, often a convenience store or a pharmacy counter (yes, next to the gift cards and the phone top-ups). You get a receipt with a 16-digit PIN.

In the casino cashier, pick paysafecard, enter the amount, then the PIN. Some cashiers send you to a paysafecard window to type it. The amount is deducted from the voucher; any remainder stays on it for next time.

Treat the receipt like cash, because it is. Anyone with the PIN can spend it. That includes anyone who phones or emails you claiming to be "casino support" and asks you to read the code out: no real casino will ever do that.

The one-line Tim Hortons rule we use for any prepaid code: if you wouldn't hand a stranger in the line a twenty, don't read them a PIN either.

Paysafecard or Neosurf?

In theory, two flavours of the same thing. Both are prepaid codes bought at a counter, both deposit only.

In practice, on our list, paysafecard wins easily. It's named on six casinos' payment pages, and Spin and Tooniebet go as far as marking it deposit-only, which tells you someone actually maintained the page. Neosurf appears on some payment pages too, but not in a way we'd call clear for Canadian players, and Tooniebet doesn't list it at all. Planning the cashout before the deposit

Back to the start, because it's the part that matters.

Before your first paysafecard deposit, open the casino's withdrawal options and pick one you can verify. On our list, Interac is the most common. At Tooniebet, Interac and MuchBetter both pay out up to C$9,000 a day. At the Baytree sites, Instadebit has a published 24–48 hour payout at Jackpot City and Lucky Nugget.
