Crypto Casinos for Canadian Players

By the Best Canadian Casinos editorial team · Checked: 14 Oct 2026 · 19+ (18+ QC, MB, AB)

Two casinos on our list take crypto. That's it.

Jackpot City lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and USDT. Tooniebet lists a much longer set of coins and stablecoin networks. Neither publishes crypto withdrawal times. And the things people hope crypto will make go away, identity checks, price swings, fees, stay exactly where they were. Here's what each casino shows and what using crypto actually changes for a Canadian player.

Checked: 14 Oct 2026. Rest of Canada only; Ontario and Alberta are excluded at both casinos.

The Jackpot City list is short: the four coins most people actually hold. Tooniebet goes wide, and the detail that matters most is the network list next to USDT. Same token, four networks. More on why that matters in a minute.

Nobody else on our list shows crypto. Spin Casino, Royal Vegas, Lucky Nugget and Ruby Fortune, all sister sites of Jackpot City, list no coins on the pages we read. Odd, given they share an operator. Zodiac and Yukon Gold don't either.

If we had to pick: Tooniebet, because its account runs in Canadian dollars and its terms are written down in more detail than most. Visit Tooniebet. Jackpot City if you want a bigger lobby and only hold the majors: visit Jackpot City.

A crypto deposit, start to finish

Slower to describe than to do. Still, once through:

  1. In the cashier, choose the coin and, for stablecoins, the network.
  2. Copy the deposit address the casino gives you. Copy, never retype. Some cashiers also show a QR code.
  3. In your wallet or exchange, paste the address, pick the same network, enter the amount, check the network fee.
  4. Send a small test amount first, wait for it to show in the casino balance, then send the rest.
  5. Keep the transaction ID (the hash). It's your receipt if anything goes missing.

How long it takes to appear depends on the chain and how many confirmations the casino waits for, which neither casino publishes. Some chains settle in seconds; Bitcoin can take a lot longer when the network is busy. Plan for a wait.

Withdrawals run the same path in reverse, plus the casino's pending period and checks. Use an address you control and that supports the exact network chosen; a withdrawal sent to an exchange address on the wrong chain is just as lost as a deposit.

The price moves while you play

This is the part people underestimate.

Deposit 0.01 BTC on a Monday. By Friday it might convert to noticeably more or fewer Canadian dollars, whether you touched a slot or not. If the casino converts your deposit into a CAD balance (Tooniebet's account currency is CAD; the exact conversion process and rate are check on site), the swing happens before or after, at the moments you convert. If it keeps the balance in coin, the swing happens the whole time you play.

Either way, your "win" or "loss" for the night has two parts: the games, and the market. You can win on the reels and still lose money overall. That's not a hypothetical twist; it's simply how holding a volatile asset works.

Stablecoins like USDT and USDC are designed to track the US dollar, which removes most of the crypto swing but adds a currency one: the loonie against the US dollar. Smaller, slower, still there. Remember when the loonie was the coin you fed into a slot machine? Now it's an exchange rate you track from your phone. Progress, apparently.

Networks, fees and the wrong-chain mistake

Read the network before you send. Every time.

Tooniebet takes USDT on ERC20, TRC20, BEP20 and Solana. Those are four different blockchains. If the deposit address you were given is for one network and you send from another, the funds can be lost, and neither the casino nor your exchange is obliged to recover them. This is the single most expensive mistake in crypto payments and it has nothing to do with gambling.

Fees come in two layers. The blockchain charges a network fee on every transfer, and it changes with traffic, sometimes cents, sometimes much more, depending on the chain and the hour. Then there's whatever the casino charges, which neither Jackpot City nor Tooniebet publishes for crypto: check on site.

A practical habit: send a small amount first. Confirm it arrived. Then send the rest. It costs one extra network fee and saves the kind of afternoon nobody wants (the crypto version of locking your keys in the car outside Canadian Tire, during the one sale that actually justified the drive).

Minimums for crypto deposits and withdrawals aren't published either. Check the cashier.

Crypto doesn't mean anonymous

Not at these casinos. Not close.

Jackpot City's operator requires identity verification once single or cumulative transactions reach €2,000, and can ask for photo ID, proof of address from the last six months and proof that a payment method is yours. For a wallet, that can mean showing you control the address. Tooniebet's terms allow electronic identity verification and requests for proof of age, identity, address and source of funds. Source of funds is the one crypto holders should expect: where did the coins come from?

So the paperwork is the same as with Interac. Possibly more. If privacy from the casino is what you wanted, crypto at a licensed site won't give it to you, and an unlicensed one isn't a trade we'd recommend to anyone.

Withdrawal caps apply too: Tooniebet publishes up to C$9,000 per day per method and weekly limits from C$10,000 to C$30,000 by VIP level. Jackpot City's terms cap withdrawals at 10,000 per 24 hours, stated in GBP or equivalent.

Tax, provinces and the other fine print

Two quick ones, and we'll keep it general.

Recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxable in Canada (CRA Income Tax Folio S3-F9-C1). Crypto is a separate matter: selling or swapping coins can have its own tax consequences, independent of the casino. We don't give tax advice. If you move meaningful amounts, ask someone qualified.

Provinces: both casinos exclude Ontario and Alberta, and Tooniebet also excludes New Brunswick. Québec is not on either restricted list; players there are 18+. The broader legal picture, Bill 74 and all, is on our legal page (not legal advice), and Québec specifics are on the Québec page.

Who should skip crypto entirely

Most people, frankly.

If you don't already hold crypto, buying it to fund a casino account adds an exchange account, a wallet, network fees, a conversion and market risk, all to replace an Interac e-Transfer that does the job in Canadian dollars. That's a lot of steps for a C$50 deposit.

It makes sense if you already hold coins, understand networks, and are fine with the extra price risk. That's a real group, and Tooniebet's list serves them well. Everyone else: the payments hub compares the simpler options, and MuchBetter is the low-fuss app wallet if you want something phone-based.

One last thing. Crypto makes deposits fast and feel abstract, which is a bad combination when a session goes wrong. Set a deposit limit in the casino account. If you need to talk: Jeu : aide et référence, 514 527-0140 or 1 800 461-0140; ConnexOntario, 1-866-531-2600.

Frequently asked questions

Which Canadian casinos accept Bitcoin?

On our list, Jackpot City (BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT) and Tooniebet (a longer list including BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT on four networks, USDC, SOL, ADA and DOGE).

How fast are crypto withdrawals?

Neither casino publishes crypto withdrawal times, so check on site. Pending periods and ID checks apply as with any method.

Do I need to verify my identity if I pay with crypto?

Yes. Jackpot City's operator requires verification at €2,000 in transactions, and Tooniebet can request proof of identity, address and source of funds.

Are crypto casino winnings taxable in Canada?

Recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxable (CRA Folio S3-F9-C1). Selling or swapping crypto can have separate tax consequences. This isn't tax advice.
